Comments

  1. 1. In 313 AD, Constantine issued the Edict of Milan, which declared Christianity lawful.
    2. Normally, after a victory, the Roman leaders sacrificed to their pagan gods on Capitoline Hill. Constantine however, went straight to the palace to thank Jesus for his victory.
    3. From 324-330 AD, Constantine built a new capital, Constantinople. In the city, he included Christian architecture, and Christian churches within the city walls.
    4. On 7 March 321 AD, Sunday was made the official day of rest. On Sunday, markets were banned and public offices closed.
    5. Laws and sentences were made more humane. For example, a prisoner wasn't confined to a dark cell permanently, but had time in the sunshine daily.
